Spurgeons Annual Report 2023/24

Spurgeons is a charity which helps children, young people, their families and carers through counselling, early years and family support. Services include education, social care, maintenance, vocational training and financial assistance.

Objective

Spurgeons senior leadership were determined to create a report which effectively communicated the strength and depth of its services. We collaborated with the client to develop a structure and design which reflected the ambition, progress and impact of the organisation.

The existing brand guidelines include an element called ‘family ties’. This is an important part of the charity’s identity and we extended this concept to introduce looping red lines which deliver a strong, connected narrative throughout the Report. 

Design highlights:

• Taking inspiration from the existing brand guidelines, we played with sweeping red lines to separate the content and generate excitement.
• This curving red motif was extended across imagery, including the front cover,  to inject a sense of fun and movement.
• Unique icons and accessible infographics were created by nim design to highlight key facts and  figures. This approach was extended to the financials.
• We reviewed previous year’s report and the unedited content to create a new coherent, organised content which was easy for all stakeholders to navigate.
