Staying true and playing fair

How partnering with ethically minded organisations has proved a successful combination for nim design and its clients.

Doing the right thing is at the heart of our business, so when we work with organisations that want the same thing, it’s a powerful combination.

When I started nim design 20 years ago, I wanted to work with organisations that make a difference. I grew up in Malaysia exposed to poverty and these formative years continue to shape my thinking and my ethical approach to business. Nim design began as an enthusiastic start-up in a small room at the bottom of Harrow Hill in 1996 when the internet was in its infancy, computers were big and bulky and marketing was all about print. Economic conditions weren’t ideal but we targeted our message to charities and, fortunately for us, they listened.

The quality of charity marketing materials in the 90s did not match up to the good work they did, and we wanted to change that. This ethical philosophy is the backbone of our approach today. Honesty and integrity are at the heart of our business and we pride ourselves on an open and transparent approach to client relationships.

These close client partnerships enable us to produce highly creative solutions and tangible results. This is why we still work with some of our first clients and how we continue to attract like-minded organisations including representatives from commerce, education, social housing, property and not-for-profit.

Digital platforms mean organisations must engage in meaningful communications with their audiences if they want to succeed. Our job is to ensure you deliver your messages – on brand and with impact. And because we believe in your messages as well as understanding them, we can deliver superior results.

So, why choose an ethically-minded design agency?

  • We love working with ethically-minded clients because we know where you’re coming from.
  • Clients who want to make the world a better place appreciate our honest, open and transparent approach.
  • We don’t just understand your messages, we believe in them too. This means we’re as committed to creating high-impact designs as you are.
