4. Information regarding directors and employees The trustees of Citizens Advice are the non-executive directors of the charitable company. No emoluments were paid to any non-executive directors (2020: £nil). Expenses of £nil (2020: £5,714) were reimbursed, or paid directly to third parties, for none (2020: 7) of the non-executive directors during the year in respect of expenses for travel, accommodation and subsistence incurred in the course of executing their duties. No trustee indemnity insurance was purchased. Payments totalling £2.3 million (2020: £2.1 million) were made to the Citizens Advice Group Personal Pension Plan and to the Civil Service Pension scheme for Consumer Futures staff who transferred to Citizens Advice in April 2014. In addition to the pension costs disclosed above, contributions totalling £3.4 million (2020: £2.4 million) were made to the NACAB Pension and Assurance Plan (1991) which closed on 27 March 2008 with £1.6 million of this paid from the existing pension liability provision.
